Viesturs TamuzsChairman of the councilViesturs Tamuzs earned a Master’s degree in chemistry from the Chemistry Faculty of the University of Latvia, where he later worked as a research associate and lecturer. In the early 1990’s, Viesturs worked at the Ministry of Industry and Energy before turning to private business. From 1996 until 2000, he ran SIA Stora Enso Packaging in Latvia and held a director’s position in the company’s Lithuanian and Estonian operations. In 2002, Viesturs was among the founders of the Association of Public-Private Partnership and served on its board until 2006, when he became board chairman. In 2003, Viesturs, along with a number of colleagues, founded the Risk Capital Association and has served on its board since then, having been elected chairman in 2007.

Undine BudeMember of the councilUndine graduated from the Faculty of Biology of the University of Latvia and later earned an MBA degree from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga in 2005. Undine is the chairman of the board of the Latvian National Library Foundation and a member of the boards of both the Packaging Association of Latvia and the Association of Secondary Raw Material Recyclers. Between 1993 and 2000, Undine was the director of several companies related to the packaging industry. From 2000 until 2006, Undine was the chairman of the board of the Latvian Green Dot (“Latvijas Zaļais Punkts”), where she now serves as chairman of its council. Currently, Undine is responsible for the activities of those companies financed by First Eko Fund .

Lelde VitinaInternal auditor, member of the councilLelde obtained both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in economics from the University of Latvia. She also received a certificate in International Standards of Financial Accounting from the Institute of Financial Analysts (United Kingdom) and a quality system manager’s certificate from Bureau Veritas. Lelde is studying to become a qualified internal auditor through The Institute of Internal Auditors. Lelde has been an internal auditor and quality system manager since 2007.

Maris SimanovicsChairman of the boardMaris received his Bachelor’s degree from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and a Master’s degree from the Institute of International Relations of the University of Latvia. He also studied at the Faculty of Law of the University of Latvia. Maris has extensive experience in the areas of finance and company management and has worked for such companies as Latvian Mobile Telephone (“Latvijas Mobilais Telefons”), Latvian Green Dot (“Latvijas Zaļais Punkts”), “PET Baltija”, “Eko Reverss” and others. Presently, Maris supervises the remaining investments of First Eko Fund and is a financial manager of Eko Investors.

Juris GrisinsFund manager, board memberJuris earned a Bachelor’s degree from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and an MBA degree from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom. Juris has extensive experience in the field of investments, which he gained while working for leading Baltic and Western European financial consulting companies. Juris is responsible for attracting investment for Second Eko Fund and supervises the capitalization of the fund.

Raitis MauransFinanical manager, board memberRaitis obtained his Bachelor’s degree in finance, as well as a Master’s degree in international economic affairs from the University of Latvia. He previously spent three years as an analyst with Magnum Medical Ltd., where he successfully implemented commercial data processing. Raitis has also worked as a financial analyst at the Green Dot Latvia.

Girts TihomirovsInvestment managerGirts has received Bachelor’s degree from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and is currently working towards his MBA degree at the Riga Business School. Girts has passed Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level II exam. Previously, he has worked as an auditor for Ernst&Young. At Eko Investors, Girts is responsible for investment project evaluation and portfolio company financial consulting.

Eduards EkartsLawyerEduards received a Bachelor’s degree in law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Latvia, and MBA degree from Riga Technical University and Buskerud University College (Norway) program “Innovations and Entrepreneurship”. Eduards has more than 10 years of experience in the practice of law, the last five of which have been spent providing legal services to Eko Funds One and Two.

Igors Lepins -ZagarsFinancial analystIgors has received Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in economic from the Latvia University of Agriculture. Previously, he has worked as a financial analyst and controller at the international enterprise Euroset.

Ilva GulaneAdministratorIlva is studying at Riga Technical University, specializing in technical translation. Ilva organizes the daily work and the document flow in the company, as well as takes care of document administration and archive.
